We understand the majority of our sites readers, and contributors are well aware of what facebook is, does, and why you would use it. However we felt that we should make a little page for those who may be future facebook fans but just dont know what its all about yet.
Before I go on I just would also like to say this blog is 100% an average user POV (point of vew) - you do not read any hammed up info by affiliated persons, of the said site. Yes we created this site because we are big fans, so we presenting you with real goods from an average users eye. Perks, concerns, and everything in-between! With that said - please feel free to take advantage of the option near the bottom of the page for questions, and if your a facebook pro - some additional info!
What is Facebook? Facebook is one of the biggest social networking sites online, and it provides a very easy way to reconnect with with friends you thought you have long lost touch with. I personally searched for at least 3 years on and off line for a high school friend, and with no luck in anyway shape or form did I even come close to finding her. After joining Facebook - it dawned on me one day to search for her there. You can imagine the shock I was in when I found her in -ohhh- 10 minutes! All those years, and hard word trying to find a friend online and it happens in mere minutes with facebook.com Okay so enough about “Me” but I just list this as one good reason to use the site. I wont mention the countless other friends
Iv reconnected with since joining myself.
But how is this social site different? The thing that sold me and had me create an account on FB were the networks & friends lists. In addition to this when someone tries to add you to their friends list you can check out who is on their friends list. This is a great option because if they dont have anyone you know on your friends list - you know this is a random “add request” and you can delete it. Might I add, the way you reject an add request is great too. You just delete it, they are not notified or anything.
What’s different is the whole set up - I find typing this out difficult because there are just so many unique feature all set up so simple that I just dont know where to start.
Have a club, group, or organization? It cant get any easier to manage it and notify everyone than using the group features available! Make a group - invite people - make a single post, and everyone gets it! Also your group members can participate in discussions in your group too. Groups can be private
or public.
Privacy - You can keep your profile and all its information private, public, and even select certain parts of your profile to be public or private.
